Building Gets Engulfed In Massive Fire From Ground Floor To Top As Frightened Bystanders Watch

The alarming video displays a building engulfed in a massive fire as frightened bystanders watch from a distance.

Smartphone footage showed the Sanjiang Business and Trade City, located in the city of Jiamusi, in China’s northernmost province of Heilongjiang, swallowed by the flames on 24th February.

The clip further depicted plumes of smoke billowing into the sky, as the flames engulfed the structure from the ground floor to the top.

A local said: “Suddenly, the entire outer insulation layer caught fire.”

He told local media that numerous fire trucks hurried to the location to extinguish the fire after it broke out. They also blocked off the vicinity to prevent vehicles from getting close to the blaze.

The man explained how the firefighters battled ferociously against the blaze, risking their lives to contain it.

There were reportedly no casualties in the incident, said police.

Police are investigating the incident to determine the cause of the fire.

It was believed to have been sparked by the insulation on the building’s exterior, spanning more than ten floors from bottom to top.

The video prompted many comments after it was shared on China’s version of TikTok, Douyin, later that day.

Douyin user ‘Brother Xiao Lai’ said: “It’s long past time to change the interior wall insulation.”
