Tragic Patricia da Cunha Leite was shot in the head at her birthday bash in Manaus early on 27th January, 2019.

She was taken to a hospital in the city, where she died from her injuries hours later.

Civil Police said at the time that three men – aged 19, 22, and 32 – had arrived at the place where Patricia was celebrating her 24th birthday and announced a robbery.

At one point, one of the men had asked for the inked fighter, but, after no one replied, one of the men recognised her and fired multiple shots at her head.

After the shooting, officers tracked them down, arrested them, and seized a number of stolen goods from them.

Media in Brazil have now reported that the man who ordered the killing – 26-year-old Eduardo de Alencar Navegante – has been found and arrested.

He was seized by police officers on patrol in Manaus on 20th March after they received a tip-off that he was dealing drugs.

When the officers stopped and searched him, they found no illegal substances.

But while verifying his identity, they realised there was a pending arrest warrant for him.

Navegante is already sentenced to 33 years in prison for Patricia’s murder and he will now be sent to jail to serve his sentence.

Local media reported that he ordered the killing because the fighter had allegedly encouraged her friend to end her relationship with him.
