A gunman who killed a nursing student in a brutal shooting died when he turned his pistol on himself during a stand-off with police.
Victim Iman Irsheed, 21, was gunned down outside an exam hall on the Applied Science Private University campus in Amman, Jordan, on Thursday, 23rd June.
Killer Uday Khaled Abdullah Hassan, 37, shot her six times in the head.
Iman was rushed to hospital in critical condition but was later declared dead.
Hassan was found by police hiding on a nearby farm three days later (Sunday, 26th June) but refused to give himself up.
Grim images of the stand-off show police just feet away from Hassan as he holds a pistol to his own head.
He reportedly shot himself before officers could move in.
Hassan was taken to a hospital, where he remained unconscious with no vital signs.
Jordan Public Security Directorate confirmed his death in a statement in the early hours of Monday, 27th June.
Iman was buried in the city of Irbid on Friday, 24th June. Police have not yet established a link between her and the gunman.
