A 14-year-old boy was killed in a freak accident when he swung from a goal crossbar and it fell onto his head.
Eren Isik was having a kickabout with friends on an Astroturf football pitch in Sevindik, Denizli Province, Turkey, on Tuesday afternoon (21st June).
But at one point he grabbed onto the crossbar of one of the goals and started swinging from it with his legs in the air.

But the goal was not fixed to the ground and fell forward under the teen’s weight.
Tragically, the metal frame hit Eren on the head, seriously injuring him.
Police and paramedics were dispatched to the scene and an ambulance took Eren to Denizli State Hospital, but he died of massive head injuries.

Following an autopsy at the Pamukkale University Hospital Forensic Medicine Institute, the teen’s body was returned to his family.
He was buried in Gumusler Cemetery on Wednesday.
The football pitch was closed following the incident and police interviewed the children who had witnessed the tragedy unfold.

The incident was still reported to be under investigation as of 22nd June.
