This is the moment a dog displays its loathing for his eight-year-old owner’s musical skills when it angrily knocks the flute from her hands.

The bizarre incident took place at the family home in the city of Xi’an, in the north-western Chinese province of Shaanxi.

In the footage, the young girl can be seen laying on the sofa practising with her traditional cucurbit silk flute.

Right beside her sits a black poodle, which was clearly not a fan of the girl’s cut-short performance.

As she tries to coax a tune from the instrument, the dog suddenly becomes irritated and decided to end the show by knocking the flute from the girl’s hands.

The young flautist stands watching in shock as her pet angrily barks at her before entering a frantic tail-chasing cycle.

Her dad – named as Mr Wang in local media – said that the family was stunned by how much their pooch did not like the girl’s playing.

The video was later shared on Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok, where thousands of netizens were equally surprised and amused by the dog’s reaction.

One user, under the handle ‘N. Again’ commented: “I’ve only seen cucurbit silk to seduce snakes, it’s the first time that it makes dogs crazy.”

And ‘eddy’ said: “Puppy sacrifices himself, saves everyone.”
