This is the moment a man robs a convenience store while holding a little girl in one hand and brandishes a knife with the other.

The robbery took place in the neighbourhood of Sao Lourenco in the city of Londrina in the southern Brazilian state of Parana on the afternoon of 1st March.

According to the news site G1, the bungling suspect also accidentally dropped his wallet with his personal documents at the scene and the police are currently trying to track him down.

The man entered the convenience store with the four-year-old girl in his arms and threatened workers with a knife, according to the unnamed business owner.

He reportedly escaped from the premises with BRL 150 (GBP 22) in cash from the till.

The shop owner said: “He approached the cashier as if he was going to make a purchase and announced the robbery, showing the knife and pretending to take it out.

“As he was with a child, I was afraid of him getting spooked and hurting the youngster. We gave him what we had in the till and he left.

“Being robbed is always horrible, but using a child is something really absurd, revolting.”

The suspect dropped his wallet at the scene and its contents were delivered to the military police by the shop owner as the investigation continues.

Nobody was hurt in the robbery, and the man had not been arrested at the time of writing.
