Angry Parents File Complaint Against Vaccination Centre After Kids Given Wrong Jab Not Approved For Children

Angry parents have filed a complaint against a vaccination centre in Germany after their children were reportedly given a version of the vaccine that has not been approved for children.

The incident took place in the town of Attendorn, which is located in the western German state of North Rhine-Westphalia, and at least one of the parents has filed a complaint with the police for assault.

The children were reportedly given the Moderna vaccine, but only the BioNTech one has so far been approved in Germany for children.

The incident concerns three children, who have not been named and, according to local media outlet Bild, did not show any side-effects when they left the vaccination centre.

The incident was reported to the police at the request of the children’s parents and at least one of them has reportedly filed a complaint for assault.

The complaint is reportedly directed against the person who is said to have carried out the vaccination process on Sunday, according to a police spokeswoman on Monday. This person is said to be a medical assistant, but they have not been named due to strict local privacy laws.

The vaccination centre said that it took this failure is an opportunity to re-examine all its procedures regarding child vaccinations.

Moderna’s vaccine has so far been approved in the EU for people aged twelve and over. However, the Standing Vaccination Commission in Berlin recommends that people under 30 only be vaccinated with BioNTech products.

The local police are believed to be investigating the incident. No arrests had been made at the time of writing.
