Air Rage Thug Coughs On Flight Crew Over Queue

Story ByAna LacasaSub EditorJoseph GolderAgencyNewsflash

This is the moment a man coughs on a flight attendant – – apparently on purpose – after becoming annoyed at the queue to board a flight.

The incident took place as the man, who has not been named in reports, was waiting to board Avianca flight 8576 from El Dorado International Airport in the Colombian capital Bogota to the city of Valledupar in the northeast of the country.

In the video, a member of the cabin crew can be seen carrying out routine boarding checks when a male passenger begins coughing at her before walking past her.

Local media report onlookers asked for the man not to be let onto the flight but he was reprimanded by the airline worker before being allowed to continue to his destination.

Reports state Avianca were forced to follow containment protocols and attend any workers who had been in the contact with the passenger, despite it being unclear if he was suffering from COVID-19.

Both the authorities and the airline have identified the man, but he has not been arrested according to reports.

Juan Francisco Espinosa, the General Director of Colombia Migration, said “we reject this kind of behaviour and we ask citizens to all join together, to express our rejection and respect our institutions”.

It is unclear if the case is under investigation.

There have been 102 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Colombia, with no deaths reported.
