This is the moment a couple in an SUV survive a 130-foot plunge off a viaduct after the vehicle reportedly rear-ended a pedicab and careered over the edge.

The dramatic accident was captured by a CCTV camera in the town of Qianjiang, which is in Laibin City in China’s southern Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

The footage shows the white SUV which reportedly crashed into the back of the red pedicab before veering to the opposite side of the Qianjiang Bridge on 20th November.

In the video, the SUV ploughs through the concrete crash barrier and plunges 40 metres (130 feet) onto the bank of the Hongshui River below, landing with a large splash.

Incredibly, local authorities said they found Mr Huang and his wife, Ms Zhou, alive in the car, with neither having suffered any life-threatening injuries.

Footage taken by witnesses on the viaduct show them panning down to see the SUV wreckage at the bottom of the drop.

The pedicab driver, who police said did not have number plates, also survived the collision.

All three were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
