This is the moment a woman’s suspected secret lover screams for help after allegedly escaping her high-rise home with a rope and trapping himself more than 20 storeys up.

Residents in the Minle Aomenxincun Residential District, which is in the city of Shenzhen in China’s southern Guangdong Province, were woken by the man’s desperate screams at around 3am local time on 1st November.

Footage taken by neighbours living in adjacent high-rise blocks reportedly shows the unnamed man clinging to the outside of one of the buildings more than 20 storeys up.

He can he heard screaming: “Help! Help!

“Please grab my hand! I’m going to fall!

“Please open your door!”

Witnesses said the man, who is thought to be the secret boyfriend of a female tenant in the building, had climbed out her window using a rope but found himself trapped and facing the prospect of plunging to his death.

Local residents said they suspected he had escaped “in order to hide himself”, suggesting the woman he was seeing either had a boyfriend or husband.

The residential area’s management office said they called emergency services who later helped rescue the stranded man.

The office said the man was not a resident in the area and had driven in using the female tenant’s access card.

They could not reveal further details of the case because it was a “private matter”, the office added.

Police in Shenzhen’s Longhua District confirmed that the man was unharmed, and that they were still investigating the case.
