This is the moment a long-haired young man in a black t-shirt walks into a church and takes a poo on the floor before reportedly returning to smear his excrement over a statue of Christ.
According to local media, the police are searching for the suspect from Sabadell in the eastern Spanish province of Barcelona after he also smeared his faeces on a wall and over a statue of Christ
CCTV footage captured the man, believed to be aged between 18 and 22 according to the Spanish Civil Guard, entering the Sanctuary of Fuensanta in Villanueva del Arzobisco in the province of Jaen located in the southern Spanish region of Andalusia.

In the footage, the young man is seen walking into the empty church and scanning the scene before deciding to defecate on the floor near the altar.
The footage cuts as the yob fulfils his objective and then shows him pulling up his trousers and walking away from an apparent pile of poo on the church floor.
According to reports, the suspect returned to smear the poo over a wall and statue of Christ.
The Spanish Civil Guard has confirmed that they are investigating the incident and have identified the vehicle he used to travel to the church, according to local media.
The vehicle is reportedly registered to a woman in Sabadell, the fifth-largest city in the north-western Spanish region of Catalonia.
The police suspect that her son could be the culprit and are said to be investigating his movements leading up to the incident.
It is unclear if the suspect has been arrested yet.
