This is the moment a cruel biker can be seen dragging a poor dog tied up to the back of the vehicle as he speeds down the road leaving the pooch bleeding and seriously injured.

The disturbing scenes were recorded by a driver, who is also an activist from Putian Animal Protection Association, on Sanjiang Street in Putian City in the Fujian Province of east China who can be heard beeping their horn to try to stop the cruel biker.

In the video, a motorcyclist can be seen speeding down the street with a dog tied up to the back of the vehicle by a rope. The poor pooch is being dragged along the tarmac as it tries to roll free.

The animal rights activist followed the motorbike until the biker abandoned the dog and fled the scene. The pooch can be seen bleeding after it was abandoned with cuts to its body and face.

The dog suffered serious injuries to its paws, stomach and both sides of its body. The activist decided to rescue the dog rather than follow its abuser and they took the pooch to a veterinary clinic where it underwent emergency surgery.

The dog was rescued from bleeding to death while the abuser escaped and he has not been identified.

PETA Asia press officer for China, Keith Guo told Asia Wire: “There is no excuse for this abuse. How many times do we have to see this before an animal welfare law is implemented in China? 

“Even though the police can still arrest and punish the man according to traffic law for his dangerous driving. Fortunately, the dog was helped with the help from a local animal group, we hope the dog can recover soon and find a permanent home.”
