A man from the Russian capital was amazed to discover a drowning bat attempting to escape the toilet bowl in his flat.

The resident of an elite complex in the city of Moscow, Russia, identified only as Stanislav, had just returned home from a late night out when he decided to visit the restroom.

But just as the man, reportedly a doctor, was about to use the loo he saw the winged mammal drowning in the water of the toilet bowl earlier this month (November).

Stunned over the bizarre sight, Stanislav took his phone out of his pocket and recorded a video showing the bat struggling to save itself.

Having noticed that the animal was in serious need of help, the man then quickly put the phone down and decided to get his hands dirty by taking the poor animal out of the bowl.

He then let the bat out of the window after he made sure that it was not injured.

Stanislav, who lives on the top floor of the building, suspected that the bat got inside the flat through an open window after it reportedly slid down from a solar panel.

Following the odd rescue operation, he shared the video on social media platforms.

One user named Svetlana Umatova commented: “I feel sorry for the bat, did you save it at least?”

While user Dmitry Romanov joked: “You just need to clean the toilet sometimes.”

And a third user, Olga Olenka, said: “Well done man, he was not afraid and saved the poor fellow!”
