This is the bizarre fish with human-like teeth which has become an online sensation after being caught in Malaysia.

The startling catch was reportedly made in Malaysia and the images of small fish have been widely shared on social media, receiving over 8,000 retweets and 14,000 likes on Twitter.

The photos show the small fish with its human-like teeth clearly visible.

Netizens were quick to speculate on what the fish was but local media newspaper The Rakyat Post have identified it as a triggerfish which is common in the waters around Malaysia.

Triggerfish are made up of around 40 species and are often brightly coloured, living in tropical and subtropical waters.

Males are known to be territorial and aggressive, charging at intruders and even using their teeth to battle with crabs and sea urchins, according to National Geographic.

Netizen ‘Radioactive Element’ wrote on Twitter: “Evolution is really a fascinating process.”

While ‘Christian’ joked on Twitter: “Kylie Jenner is shaking in her boots.”

And ‘Surest oberoi’ said: “It has long been known that there are already alien creatures amongst us. Not necessarily as we know it.”
