This is the moment two men on bikes fatally shoot a cyclist in the middle of the street as he leaves work for lunch.

The incident was filmed by a CCTV camera in the municipality of Linhares in the south-eastern Brazilian state of Espirito Santo shortly after 11am on Monday, 20th December.

As a result of being shot in the back and foot, the suspect died in hospital of his injuries, according to the news site G1.

In the video footage, the victim is seen riding along the road while being closely followed by another cyclist. The gunman then shoots at the target at close range before riding off screen.

The victim jumps off his bike and immediately falls to the ground after apparently suffering a foot injury.

While struggling in the road, another cyclist circles around the man before shooting at him as he hobbles along the pavement and the video comes to an end.

The Military Police (Brazil’s preventive police force) said that the victim, name not disclosed, was leaving his work for lunch when he was surprised by two gunmen on bicycles.

After following him on the road, the two suspects reportedly fired multiple times and shot the victim in his back and foot.

The victim was taken to the Linhares General Hospital (HGL), but he later succumbed to his injuries.

The Civil Police (Brazil’s investigative police force) have launched an investigation, but no suspects had been arrested at the time of reporting.
