This woman was told by her husband that she should kill their baby and send it back to the devil that it came from because of the infant’s deformities.

Bajeneza Liberata’s husband abandoned her and their family after she gave birth to the baby suffering from deformities in Rwanda.

Afrimax English interviewed Bajeneza and she said that she had given birth to several children in the past so wasn’t expecting any issues when she and her husband travelled to the city hospital to give birth again.

But the baby was born with severe deformities to which her husband, who was not identified, reacted by telling her she should kill the baby as it was sent by the devil.

He went on to claim that he has no responsibility for the child as he would never father the devil’s spawn.

Bajeneza watched helplessly from her hospital bed as her husband walked out and never returned, leaving her behind to care for all of his children.

She said that she spent several days stranded in the city as everyone was terrified of her and her baby.

Eventually, a good samaritan offered to drive Bajeneza and her baby back to her village.

Bajeneza said people in the village are brutal towards her as well, making fun of her baby and saying that it would be better off dead and calling it a monster.

Isolated and unable to work, Bajeneza has been struggling to care for herself and her baby with no medical support from the hospital. She doesn’t even know what condition her child is suffering from.

The child appears to be in a lot of pain according to Bajeneza who says she doesn’t know how to help.
