This is the moment a car smashes into the back of a biker and his pal riding pillion, sending the first flying in the air and the second onto the bonnet before they are both flung to the ground.
The vivid dash-cam footage shows how the incident unfolded on the Ceyhan-Yumurtalik State Highway in southern Turkey’s Adana Province on the afternoon of Sunday, 25th July.
Motorcyclist Umut Sezik was seriously injured when he was sent flying several feet into the air by the collision and then hit the ground, with his head hitting the asphalt road.
The video shows how his passenger, Berat Cosgun, is knocked off the back of the motorbike and onto the car bonnet by the collision, with his face ending up just inches away from the dash-cam.
His pained expression is visible before he is flung to the ground seconds later along with his pal, and the two skid down the road in their t-shirts, shorts and flip flops for several feet.
Three people are then seen getting out of the car to check on the injured men, including driver Serdar Demiryurek, who subsequently called the emergency services.
Police officers and paramedics went to the scene, with the former taking Demiryurek to the police station and the latter taking the injured men to the hospital.
The police questioned Demiryurek and launched an investigation into the accident. No possible cause for the crash was given at the time of reporting.
At the time of reporting, Cosgun was recovering well, but Sezik’s life was at risk.
