The cute seven-year-old boy – who was snapped tearfully holding a sign for his missing dog – has found his beloved pet with the help of kindhearted netizens.

Jonathan, 7, lost his pet dog Ryder in a neighbourhood known as Los Magueyes in the state of San Luis Potosi in central Mexico.

According to local media, the boy spent two days searching for his dog with his father Jose Feliciano Bautista and the pair posted missing signs around the neighbourhood.

Reports said that a young man, whose name has not been reported, called the family after a snap of Jonathan in tears was widely shared on social media.

Feliciano Bautista told local media: “Someone phoned me, I did not ask his name, he told me he had my pooch and asked if we could pass by to see him.”

The father added: “I called my wife and asked her if she could go. When she went there she found our Ryder. The dog was very excited”.

The snap shows the happy boy hugging his pet after he returned home.

Jonathan’s aunt Alondra Alfaro wrote on Facebook: “We will always be grateful to all the people who helped us. My nephew is very happy with his dog. Thanks to everyone who helped us by sharing the post and those who helped us to search for the dog even they did not know us.”

Reports said that the pooch was adopted when it was a two-week-old puppy. Jonathan lost it on 2nd March when he went for a family walk and the dog suddenly went missing.

The snap shows the boy in floods of tears as he holds a piece of paper with the message “Se busca” (missing) and a picture of his dog.
