A middle-aged man has been arrested for pointing a loaded gun at a 15-year-old girl and threatening to shoot her because she was making too much noise outside his flat in the Austrian capital Vienna.

The 56-year-old man, who has not been named in reports, is said to have pulled out a loaded handgun and threatened to shoot one of the teenagers who were in the courtyard outside his home in the Austrian capital of Vienna – dubbed the world’s most liveable city.

According to reports, the man was annoyed at the youths making a noise in the courtyard.

He shouted down to the youths asking them to leave the courtyard, but after they refused he grabbed a gun and returned to his window and aimed it towards a 15-year-old girl, according to reports.

The girl’s parents called the police who arrested the man in his flat a short while later. The police found the loaded gun as well as ammunition in his apartment, according to local media.

He is being investigated on charges of duress.
