A 15-year-old boy has been arrested for raping and murdering his 13-year-old stepsister before dismembering her and dumping her remains in sacks.
The young victim, identified as Angeles Daniela Parra, went missing on 26th July in the municipality of San Martin in the central Colombian department of Meta.
According to local media, the girl’s dismembered body was found on an area of waste ground, hidden in some sacks.

Police spokesman Mauricio Pedraza said that medical reports confirmed that the disabled girl died from asphyxiation. Local media report police indicated she was raped. The victim reportedly suffered mental development problems.
Following a preliminary investigation, the victim’s stepbrother, whose name was not disclosed, is believed to have been the perpetrator. The victim’s mother reportedly told police that the two had a difficult relationship.
Reports said that the 15-year-old suspect disapproved of the romantic relationship between his mother and the victim’s mum.
The victim and the suspect reportedly lived in the same house together prior to her untimely death.
According to Pedraza, the victim’s mother had received threats from the teenage suspect and also claimed that her daughter had been mistreated by him.
The 15-year-old boy is currently being held in police custody, according to local media.
Local residents reportedly staged a protest in the municipality of San Martin against gender violence and the death of the 13-year-old girl.
The investigation is ongoing.
