This is the moment two Italian twins score a viral hit – viewed over 13 million times – with their COVID-19 lockdown version of Coldplay’s ‘Viva la Vida’ on violin.

Mirko and Valerio, 12, live in the hilltop city of Agrigento in the Italian island of Sicily, the largest island in the Mediterranean.

Two weeks ago during lockdown to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the brothers filmed themselves playing Coldplay’s ‘Viva la Vida’ on violin.

The twins posted the video with the message: “We thought about spending some time with you guys and for us music is our way of escaping so we hope you can use it too.

“’Viva la Vida’ by Coldplay seems to be the perfect song for this Sunday of sun and hope.”

As well as garnering over 13 million views on Facebook, the video was even shared on Coldplay’s official Twitter account by the band themselves with the message: “Thank you guys, you rock!”

After learning that the British band, who formed in London in 1996, had shared their video, the twins said on social media: “A very special thanks to Coldplay who gave us an extraordinary wake-up present by sharing our video!”
