Woman ‘Raped’ And Abused By Security Forces Snatched From Hospital

A woman said to have been gang raped by Iranian security police has disappeared after she was dragged from hospital when claims of her abuse surfaced on social media.

Critically injured Armita Abbasi, 21, had been taken to the Imam Ali Karaj Hospital on 18th October by members of the intelligence services.

It was only later that her family were told that she had been admitted and her condition was serious.

Local media quoted hospital sources saying that she had been beaten, and also had signs of internal bleeding as well as signs of multiple anal and vaginal rape.

Hospital sources claimed they had been ordered to make a medical certificate to indicate that the sex attack happened before her arrest.

But when news of her condition appeared on social media, she vanished from the hospital.

They say Iran’s Revolutionary Guard went to the hospital and then put medics under pressure to say that she had been admitted with a severe stomach complaint.

The official statement from the hospital also confirmed the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) statement that the young woman had been discharged after treatment for a stomach upset and rejected anonymous sources that claimed otherwise.
