UPLIFTING BIT: OAP Captures Amazing Footage Of SpaceX Falcon 9 Rocket Launch

This footage shot by a woman in Florida shows SpaceX’s amazing launch of the OneWeb 1 mission.

Deb Shaw, aged 70, from the city of St Augustine, in Florida, USA, caught SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket gaining altitude following its blast off on Thursday, 8th December.

The rocket, carrying 40 OneWeb satellites, can be seen soaring into orbit in a dazzling sunset liftoff after NASA’s Kennedy Space Center (KSC) launched it at 5:27pm EST. Deb can be heard saying the launch is “gorgeous” and “beautiful” in the footage.

She can also be heard saying that she loves watching the SpaceX launches and that it “never gets old”.

This was reportedly the fourth launch and landing of the Falcon 9 first stage booster, B1069, which previously launched CRS-24, Eutelsat HOTBIRD 13F, and one Starlink mission.

The 70-year-old told Newsflash: “I recorded it from my patio.”

Deb, who graduated from university with a degree in history, explained that St Augustine is the oldest continuously occupied European settlement that was founded by the Spanish in 1565, and added: “St Augustine is a Mecca of gilded age homes and Christmas lights. It is beautiful.

“We get to see all of the space launches here and if one comes to visit, many, like myself, come back to stay.

“If one is in ‘God’s waiting room’, this is the place to be. In many spots in my neighborhood, I can see our lighthouse.”
