A Brazilian woman has been stabbed to death just one week after declaring on social media her undying love for the man now accused of her murder.

Flavia Souza, 24, was reportedly killed by her partner Luis Eduardo Coelho, 33, who then hanged himself at their home in the municipality of Itanhaem in the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo, according to local reports.

Just one week before her tragic death, Souza posted a photo of her on the beach with her partner that included the message: “I love you and choose you to live my life with you.”

Coelho replied: “I love you too, crazy one.”

The police, currently investigating the case as femicide and suicide, said they entered the couple’s property and found Souza on the floor in a pool of blood.

A knife was sticking in her side near her waist and there were visible injuries on her neck and arms, according to the authorities.

Meanwhile, the police said Coelho had hanged himself and displayed injuries to his neck and chest.

The Sao Paulo Public Security Secretariat (SSP-SP) told local media that the case is being investigated as femicide and suicide at the Itanhaem General Investigations Police Station.

The authorities seized the knife found at the scene and are carrying out an analysis on the possible murder weapon as the investigation continues.
