The footage shows the moving Russian infantry group being hit by mortar fire from the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces at night.
The images were obtained by Newsflash from the Command of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. On Wednesday, 17th January, along with a statement saying: “Destruction of hostile groups by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Avdiivka sector continues .
“Today, the approaches to Avdiivka are a mess of sinkholes, littered with enemy corpses, and daily attempts by occupation forces to encircle the city.
“The operators of the 8th separate regiment of the Special Forces destroyed an enemy group that moved forward at night to storm the positions of the Ukrainian Defence Forces in the Avdiivka sector.

“The SF operators added: ‘While conducting surveillance in our area of responsibility, we noticed an enemy group of seven servicemen moving down the landing zone, we opened fire on the enemy with a mortar. The group completely destroyed as a result of the fire’.”
