These images show Ukrainian forces blowing up a Russian ‘Tornado-G’ rocket system and a ‘Msta-S’ howitzer using rocket launchers.
Aerial footage shows the moment Ukrainian forces hit the Russian war machines hidden among thick forestry somewhere along the frontlines.
Moments later, the targets disappeared among fire and thick clouds of smoke.
The images were obtained by the 73rd marine centre of the SpP on Wednesday, 10th January, along with a statement saying: “The SFO directed HIMARS fire at enemy ‘Tornado-G’ and ‘Msta-S’.
“While conducting reconnaissance in the southern regions, the crew of the 73rd Maritime Centre of the Special Forces discovered a camouflaged 152-mm self-propelled howitzer ‘2S19 Msta-S’ and a ‘Tornado-G’ multiple rocket launcher system.
“The self-propelled artillery systems and MLRSs are designed to destroy equipment, including heavy weapons, manpower, destroy field fortifications, and hinder enemy manoeuvres deep in the enemy’s defences.
“The SSO operators identified the coordinates of the enemy targets and fired HIMARS missile and artillery units of the Defence Forces at them.
“As a result of the fire damage, ‘Msta-S’ was destroyed, and ‘Tornado-G’ was damaged beyond repair.”
