Ukrainian Forces Destroy Russian Military Equipment Near Bakhmut

This is the moment Ukrainian forces take out Russian troops and military equipment on the frontlines.

The footage shows Russian military equipment being hit by Ukrainian ordnance and exploding.

The images were obtained from the National Guard of Ukraine, on Wednesday, 6th March, along with a statement saying: “In the Bakhmut sector, the enemy was preparing its equipment for an assault, but our artillerymen from the Rubizh National Guard Brigade had other plans for it.

“The guardsmen hit a cluster of Russian vehicles with their guns. It was effectively and efficiently destroyed: 3 enemy MT-LBs, 3 Msta-B howitzers, Ural truck.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that between 24th February 2022 and 5th March 2024. Russia had lost approximately 419,020 personnel, 6,657 tanks, 12,688 armoured combat vehicles, 10,258 artillery units, 1,007 multiple launch rocket systems. 700 air defence systems, 347 warplanes, 325 helicopters, 7,863 drones, 1,917 cruise missiles, 25 warships, 1 submarine, 13,423 motor vehicles and fuel tankers, and 1,630 units of special equipment.

Ukrainian special forces have reportedly sunk a Russian warship, the Sergei Kotov, in the Black Sea.

The attack reportedly occurred on the night of 4th to 5th March, using Magura V5 naval drones, causing damage to the ship’s stern and sides.

The incident took place near the Kerch Strait, and reportedly resulted in the ship sinking, at a cost of USD 65 million.

Ukrainian Drones Spot And Take Out Russian Military Equipment

Following reports of explosions near the Kerch bridge, Ukraine claimed that the bridge closed overnight, and social media indicated possible drone attacks. Ukrainian intelligence later confirmed the events.

Ukraine’s military has reportedly contained a Russian advance outside Avdiivka, but Russian troops have regrouped further south. Two firefighters have killed near Kramatorsk by Russian shelling.

The UK has urged Germany to provide long-range Taurus missiles to Ukraine despite a leaked secret call to Russian television. The UK intensified its lobbying on the Taurus missiles, which have twice the range of the Storm Shadow/Scalp system.

However, Chancellor Olaf Scholz has refused to donate missiles that could target the strategic Kerch bridge.

The European Commission has proposed boosting the EU’s arms industry and shifting into “war economy mode”. Commissioner Thierry Breton has outlined plans to encourage EU countries to collectively purchase more weapons from European companies and help these firms increase production capacity.

Ukraine’s Defence Minister Rustem Umerov and Armed Forces Commander Oleksandr Syrskyi have discussed the frontline situation and weapons supply with US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin.

They also talked with British Defence Secretary Grant Shapps and Chief of Defence Staff Sir Tony Radakin about Ukrainian military needs.
