This is the ghostly moment a parked motorbike starts moving of its own accord before toppling over and spilling bread all over the pavement.

The strange incident took place in the municipality of Acarau in the north-eastern Brazilian state of Ceara on 5th January, but the footage was only shared on social media 15 days later, spooking netizens.

The footage, which was filmed by a CCTV camera outside a local business, shows the motorbike parked on the pavement.

Moments later, the motorcycle’s panel lights up, its headlights come on and the vehicle starts moving slowly of its own accord.

It performs a turn as if about to head out onto the road, but it suddenly falls on its side, with the freshly-baked contents of the bread basket on the back on the motorbike being spilled onto the pavement.

The owner of the business, Francisco Brandao, told local media that the owner of the motorbike is a baker who had gone there to make a delivery.

According to Brandao, the baker parked his bike, turned off the vehicle and left the key in the ignition.

He said: “We were at the store when we heard the noise of the motorcycle falling and we were surprised how the motorcycle fell in a different place to where it was parked.

“We decided to check the security cameras to see what had happened, that’s when we saw the as-yet inexplicable video”.

Brandao said that the baker left on the fallen motorbike following the spooky incident and went in search of a garage to find out what could possibly have happened.

No explanation as to how the motorbike travelled on its own has yet been given.
