This bizarre footage shows a daredevil skier being pulled in a shower of sparks behind a car on a busy road with no snow in sight.

CCTV cameras in the city of Petrozavodsk, the capital of the Republic of Karelia, a western Russian federal subject, captured the footage of the man skiing on asphalt along one of the city’s busy roads.

In the footage, many vehicles are seen driving down the street when suddenly a black car appears in the frame towing a man on skis behind it. He is skiing on the asphalt only as sparks fly from under his feet.

According to local media, the incident took place on 5th February and the man’s identity remains unknown.

According to local residents who witnessed the incident, the daredevil carried on with the stunt for several blocks.

However, both the skier and the driver were eventually pulled over by traffic police officers in front of the city hall.

Police are now investigating the incident.

The incident set tongues wagging on social media with many netizens voicing their opinion about the stunt.

‘Victoria Vovk’ joked: “It’s very comfortable driving an automatic.”

While ‘deathvan’ said: “Do you find it unusual? Really, unusual for Russia?!”

Another netizen named ‘Igor Shilyaev’ said: “Are they launching another challenge?!”
