The marriage of Brazilian legend Adriano to a blonde hairdresser has ended less than a month after it started.

The couple, who had been together for only 24 days, decided to split after a furious row, according to local media.

The argument apparently happened after the 40-year-old former player decided to visit friends in his home town in Vila Cruzeiro, in Penha, in the North Zone of Rio and came home two days later without telling his wife, Micaela Mesquita, 25, where he had gone.

He claimed that he had wanted to watch the winning 1-0 match of Brazil against Switzerland in the World Cup with his friends.

When he got back, his nondisclosure sparked a row with his new bride, who refused to accept his apologies, and the marriage match was apparently off.

The split was noticed after she unfollowed him on social media networks, even though he kept some photographs of the couple together online.

The split follows a whirlwind romance between the pair, followed by a low-key wedding on 9th November that was made public on social media.

Beside the relationship, they also cancelled a private party with friends and their joint families to celebrate the civil partnership scheduled for the last weekend (3rd/4th December).

The father of three, Adriano, 40, had previously been in an on-off relationship with the 25-year-old, and the decision to marry recently was the fifth time they got back together.

The previous bid had been as recently as October but then less than a month later they got back together and married in a registry office.
