This is the moment a 48-year-old single father-of-three lies motionless on the dented roof of a parked car after he reportedly fell from the fifth floor of an adjacent shopping centre.

The incident took place in Jalan Kuhara in the town of Tawau in the eastern Malaysian state of Sabah, and two women were reportedly in the parked vehicle when the man fell on the roof.

Police spokesperson Peter Umbuas said the man fractured his leg and shoulder while confirming that both women in the car were shocked but otherwise unhurt.

The female witnesses were advised to make a statement with the police.

Umbuas added that the car roof was badly damaged while the windscreen and driver’s window were both cracked by the man’s reported fall.

Meanwhile, the unnamed man is said to be hospitalised in a stable condition.

Umbuas said the police were investigating whether the 48-year-old’s fall was intentional.

He said the father-of-three was recently widowed and struggling to cope with debt while trying to raise the children by himself.

The investigation is ongoing.
