Russia claimed its troops have disrupted a rotation of Ukrainian soldiers using ‘Tornado-G’ rocket launchers in Kharkiv.

The alleged operation was carried out by members of the Western Military District near the city of Kupyansk. In eastern Ukraine, according to a statement obtained by Clipzilla from the Russian Ministry of Defence on 13th February.

The ministry said: “Calculations of the MLRS ‘Tornado-G’ of the Western Military District on the Kupyansk direction struck a gathering of enemy personnel during the rotation of Ukrainian forces.

“Around the clock, ‘Tornado-G’ calculations support the defensive actions of Russian tankers and motorized infantry.

“Mass strikes are delivered to enemy positions, military infrastructure objects, and equipment: 122mm rocket projectiles hit platoon strongpoints and enemy forces in concentration areas before they reach the front lines.”

The platoon commander, code-named ‘Jackie’, was quoted as saying. “Today, we worked on the enemy personnel. There is always work. We perform combat tasks in any weather.

“We always carry out all camouflage activities. Crews are all experienced. They know what to do in any situation. When we cross paths with the units we support, they always thank us for our work.

“They say, ‘Guys, thank you for your work! You always help at the right moment. Thank you!’. You always realise that there are guys on the front line working.

“These are your comrades. You know it’s harder for them. And so, you have to work accurately, on time, as it should be.”

The ministry added: “[The] ‘Tornado-G’ is equipped with an automated guidance and aiming system, topographic orientation, and navigation.

“This allows for faster strikes against the enemy. Moreover, the accuracy is verified by artillery reconnaissance means and quadcopters.

“For the enemy, ‘Tornado-G’ poses a serious threat. Therefore, these modern systems are being specially targeted.”
