This is the moment Russian cops rescue a half-naked drunk man dangling from a city bridge.

The rescue took place at Melnikaite Bridge in the city of Tyumen in the Russian region of Tyumen Oblast on the night of Tuesday, 4th January.

According to the news site Life, eyewitnesses saw the man, stripped to the waist, clinging to the railing while dangling on the other side of the bridge at a significant height from the ground below.

Passersby rushed to help the man while others called the emergency services.

The police said: “In the area, at around 2am, it was reported that a man was hanging from a bridge and a police squad arrived quickly.”

The rescue was filmed by an onlooker and the video footage was later widely shared on the Russian social network VK.

In the footage, several people apparently hold onto the half-naked man’s arms as he dangles from the bridge.

Two cops climb over the railing to secure the man with rope before apparently tying it to the metal bars.

The officers then help to drag the man over the railing and onto firm ground.

According to eyewitnesses, the man was acting strangely before he climbed over the railing, and he appeared drunk at the time.

It is unclear what made the man dangle from the bridge and if the police are continuing to investigate the matter.
