Russia Says Its Soldiers Destroyed Ukrainian Strongpoint With Self-Propelled 2S5 Giatsint-S Guns

The astonishing video purportedly shows Russian troops destroying a Ukrainian strongpoint with self-propelled 2S5 Giatsint-S guns.

The attack was carried out by soldiers from Russia’s Central Military District in the city of Avdiivka. In Ukraine’s Donetsk Oblast, on 29th February.

Russia’s Ministry of Defence said in a statement obtained by Clipzilla: “After receiving coordinates, the 2S5 Giatsint-S artillery calculations arrived at the position, conducted aiming at the target provided by reconnaissance, and with a series of shots hit the area of deployment of Ukrainian nationalists, as well as the positions identified in the forest belt.

“After completing the fire task, the artillerymen of the Central Military District camouflaged the guns and withdrew to underground shelters.

“In the command of the Central Military District, it is emphasised that according to its tactical and technical characteristics. The self-propelled artillery unit 2S5 Giatsint-S is one of the most effective weapons for conducting counter-battery warfare and destroying positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at long distances.

“It is distinguished by high accuracy of hits and increased firepower.

“The calculations of the 2S5 Giatsint-S of the Central Military District are capable of effectively hitting the entire range of targets in various weather conditions around the clock.

“The 152-millimetre gun 2S5 Giatsint-S, developed by the Soviet designer of artillery systems Yuri Kalachnikov. Belongs to large-calibre artillery and is designed to suppress and destroy enemy personnel, weapons, and military equipment on the move, in concentration areas, and in strongpoints.”
