This is the moment a half-baked hold-up man is locked inside the patisserie he is robbing by a quick-thinking cashier.

The gunman had stormed into the bakery in Campeche, Mexico, on 21st August demanding the day’s takings.

CCTV security footage of the raid shows him bellowing at the worker: “Give me all the money, give it to me. I don’t care if you’re recording me. Give me your phone.”

As the crook barks “Where? Where? Where?”, the cashier calmly replies, “There it is, there it is” as she walks discreetly towards the exit.

But as the hapless crook rummages behind the counter, the brave woman darts out of the door and rolls down the security shutter, locking him inside.

Seconds later, she had called the police.

The now-furious crook can then be seen sprinting over to the exit as he tries in vain to get out.

First, he tries to lift the locked shutter, then he tries to open locked glass doors to see if there is another way out.

As he shouts and curses, he sprints to the back of the shop apparently looking for a back door.

He can be heard pleading in a cowardly voice: “Help me!”

Finally, he jams a display unit against the front door, apparently in a bid to stop police from getting in.

Then he grabs a fire extinguisher and runs again towards the back of the shop.

Local media report that the crook was arrested by police moments after the clip ended.

He had managed to smash through a window at the back of the store but was seized moments later.

After the clip was posted to social media, one netizen commented: “They should give the employee of the year a raise!”
