A lucky punter who won a fortune during a casino session was amazed when she scooped a USD 100,000 lotto jackpot just hours later.
The 31-year-old nursing assistant – was still wearing the same clothes from her late night hour when she bought her winning scratchcard ticket.
She joked: “I left the casino after I won around 1am.
“I bought the scratch-off the next day around noon. I was still wearing the same clothes. I guess those clothes are lucky!”
The mum-of-four – from the town of Princess Anne, Somerset County, Maryland State, USA – was playing under the name of Chicklet 31.
The previous night she had won USD 11,000 (GBP 9,176) at Ocean Downs Casino.
So feeling lucky after her first win, she decided to purchase a scratchcard ticket the next day.
Chicklet said in a statement obtained by Newsflash from Maryland Lottery: “I just bought that scratch-off because it stood out to me and pink is my favorite colour.”
But later that day, while sitting home with her boyfriend and still trying to digest the casino win, she discovered she had won the card’s top prize.
At lottery headquarters, the woman who works 12-hour-a-day shifts said she would like to travel to China and visit her son – who lives there – more often.
She revealed that she wants to invest some of the money towards her career, adding: “I plan to further my education.”
Maryland Lottery officials stated that the gas station where the 31-year-old woman made the purchase will receive a USD 1,000 (GBP 836) bonus for selling a winning instant ticket.
They added: “‘Chicklet’ becomes the 60th top-prize winner in the USD 100,000 [GBP 83,421] Extreme Cash scratch-off game and is the game’s third top-prize winner in the last two weeks.
“The game went on sale in September 2020 and four top prizes remain unclaimed along with others ranging from USD 30 [GBP 25] to USD 5,000 [GBP 4,180].”
