This image shows the two tragic Orthodox Jewish girls who jumped to their deaths from the top of a building in Jerusalem.

Police investigate allegations that the pair, identified as Hani Solish, 19, from Netanya, and Sarah Klapman, 24, from Jerusalem, may have been victims of sexual abuse.

The jumped from the top of the Mercaz Sapir building in Givat Shaul after leaving behind a note confirming that they wanted to commit suicide, with one of the girl saying they did not want to be a disappointment to their parents.

Local media discovered that one of the girls had been abused by a relative who had been convicted but released on parole a decade ago, and that the girl herself had been in therapy but her family had put pressure on her to stop. It was also reported that the pair are related and are cousins.

Another had also reportedly been struggling with issues related to her faith. Both of them were found discussing religion in a WhatsApp group in which they expressed their problems blowing in families which are part of the ultra-Orthodox Chabad community.

Police also found a note in the group after their deaths from one user saying: “I understand what you did”.

This counselling was being given to the others in the group to ensure there was no repetitions of the tragic suicide of the young women.

Witnesses reported hearing a scream and makes are called. One told local media: “When we reached the site, we found two young women in their 20s unconscious, not breathing and without a pulse. They were suffering from massive trauma. We carried out medical checks and were forced to declare them both dead.”
