OLDING ON FOR 1.000 YEARS: 12 Siblings With A Combined Age Of 1.058 Smash World Record

A family of twelve siblings have smashed a world record after they were revealed to have a combined age of 1,058 years and 249 days.

The Hernandez-Perez family – from the mountainous town of Moya in Spain’s Canary Islands – has been honoured with a heart-warming celebration for scooping the record.

Town Hall officials staged a special party for the family, local media reported on 16th October.

The family sat on stage while officials unveiled an official Guinness World Records certificate marking their milestone.

The siblings range in age from 76 to 98 years.

Local media named them as Modesto, Alejandro, Miguel, Gloria Hortensia, Francisco Manuel, Angela, Amada del Pino, Rosario Ofelia, Juan, María del Carmen, Jose Santiago and Luis.

Luis, the youngest of the twelve, was said to be visibly moved by the ceremony.

He told local media: “It is a very special day for us, not even in our wildest dreams did we imagine this.

“We hope to continue fighting and enjoying the good life of Villa de Moya.”

The brothers and sisters were born to a loving couple named Martina Perez and Modesto Hernandez who had their first child in the early 1920s, according to reports.

The family credits its good health and unbelievable endurance to the fact that the siblings managed to avoid global, life-changing events that rocked the 21st century by staying together on the Spanish island for most of their lives.
