This is the moment a woman in southern China tries to knock a coconut out of a palm tree – and gets knocked senseless when it falls on her head.

The unnamed woman’s nutty slip was filmed by her laughing husband in the city of Ding’an, in the small Chinese province of Hainan.

In the footage, the woman can be seen standing on the back of a pickup truck to free coconuts with a scaffolding pole.

Unexpectedly, she frees a huge coconut that falls and smacks her on the head, causing her to fall over.

She and her husband, who happened to be recording the hilarious fail, burst out in laughter after she makes a loud ‘thud’ while the coconut gets smashed on the pavement.

They later shared the video of the woman’s unsuccessful attempt at coconut picking on Douyin – the Chinese version of TikTok.

Amused netizens said she should not pick coconuts standing at the landing area, as the probability of being hit is high, and said they would not recommend tree picking while standing on top of a car.

User ‘jungle tiger’ said: “I used to hear that coconuts are designed to smash people. I didn’t know if it was true or not. After seeing this, I really believe it.”

And user ‘Southern Hemisphere’ jokingly said: “Hearing his laugh, you know it’s his wife.”
