This is the moment Australian football fans are having a joyous celebration following their national team’s victory against Denmark at the 2022 World Cup.

Newsflash obtained the footage from Byron Cooke, an FM radio and podcast host from Melbourne, Australia and a proud fan of his country’s national football team.

Byron filmed the moment the Socceroos scored the winning goal in the match against Denmark’s national team as fans at Federation Square in Melbourne celebrated screaming.

‘The Socceroos’ is the official nickname for the Australia men’s national football team which represents the country internationally.

The video shows thousands of overjoyed fans jumping and screaming in a wild celebration as a giant TV screen shows their team scoring victory against Denmark 1-0.

Byron told Newsflash: “Aussies follow many different sports. There are local codes of football here that are more popular than soccer generally speaking.

“But we understand the global scope of this event. The Socceroos bring so many of us together,” he said.

“There is an underdog spirit to this national team that really connects with the public,” Byron added.

The Socceroos exceeded many fans’ expectations and made the country very proud, Byron said.

He said: “Any Aussie who follows sport is aware of the might of Argentina in the world game.

“It’s a daunting but really exciting prospect for the fans.”

“But once you get this far you definitely allow yourself to dream!” Byron revealed.
