A cold-blooded killer who murdered and cut up her unfaithful husband and then became a Netflix star is set to make a fortune from a tell-all book.

Elize Matsunaga – released early on parole from her 16-year life sentence this week – penned the work ‘Picnic In Hell’ while she was behind bars.

Matsunaga was not due for release from the prison in Tremembe in south-eastern Brazil until 2032.

But now she is said to be considering offers from publishers for her life story.

She became a huge Netflix star when her story was filmed for a documentary titled ‘Elize Matsunaga: Once Upon A Crime’.

Now – says her lawyer Luciano Santoro – she intends to tell her full story in print.

According to local media reports, she is currently negotiating with two publishers.

However, it may still be a while before the book – currently 178 pages long – hits shelves.

Her lawyer said: “After reaching a deal with a publisher, the text needs to be reviewed, all these things, before the book can be published.”

Former sex worker Matsunaga shot businessman Marcos Matsunaga dead in 2012 and then left pieces of his hacked-up body scattered beside a road.

She was jailed in 2016 and was initially sentenced to 19 years and 11 months behind bars.

Her sentence, though, was reduced to 16 years and three months in 2019.

But in the end, she did not even serve the reduced time, as she was released from prison on Monday, 30th May.

She will now serve the rest of her sentence in freedom with minimal measures, such as periodically reporting her occupation and address to the authorities.

The couple’s daughter was asleep at home when Matsunaga – then aged 30 – shot Marcos dead.

She claims in the book that the youngster did not even hear the shot.

Now 11 years old, the girl lives with her paternal grandparents and is still banned from seeing her mother, whom she last saw a decade ago.

Matsunaga also reveals several sensational details in her account of the moments leading up to the fatal shooting.

She claimed her husband told her: “Shoot, you weakling! Shoot! You slut! Shoot or disappear from here with your family of sh*t and leave my daughter.

“You will never see her again. Do you think a judge will give custody to a whore?”

Matsunaga, who comes from a humble background, used to make ends meet by working as an escort. She met Marcos after he hired her for sex.

The two soon began a relationship and Marcos’ high earnings as the CEO of a major food company allowed her to leave her former profession.

But the couple’s relationship later turned sour, with Matsunaga ending up hiring a private detective to follow Marcos after she began to suspect him of infidelity.

The detective unearthed affairs and even filmed Marcos with another escort. It was when she confronted her husband with her findings that the fatal row ensued.

But family and friends of the victim interviewed in the Netflix documentary cast doubt on Matsunaga’s account of why she shot her husband dead.

They claim she did not kill Marcos because he threatened to take their daughter away from her but out of spite because her relationship and comfortable life were imperilled.

Following her release from prison, Matsunaga raised eyebrows by claiming the husband she had murdered and cut into pieces had forgiven her.

She said: “I believe in spirituality and I believe that he has already forgiven me and I pray for him in my prayers.”
