This air footage shows the huge narco boat that ended up stranded on the beach with 51 drums of petrol after a chase operation that ended up with the arrest of two people.

The boat itself was not believed to be one that was used for drug smuggling, but instead carried petrol that was to fuel other drug smuggling narco boats.

Officers of the national police force, located in the municipality of San Roque, in the Campo de Gibraltar area in the southern Spanish province of Cadiz seized the huge narco boat, around 12 metres (39 feet) in length, that was loaded with 51 petrol drums.

The incident took place when officers belonging to Operation Condor were doing works of prevention of drug trafficking in Campo de Gibraltar yesterday (5th November).

The helicopter pilot and other officers on board spotted the huge narco boat, with three engines, whose captain tried to speed away.

The boat was chased until it ended up stranded in the beach of Guadalquinto thanks to the “skills of the helicopter pilot”, as is reported in the press statement obtained by Newsflash.

Two people ran away and one of them was located and arrested by officers.

The second suspect was also arrested on the beach.

Police spokesman reported to Newsflash that both are of Moroccan nationality.

The boat was seized and 51 drums of fuel with 1,275 litres (44873 oz) of petrol were found. They are allegedly used to give the fuel to other boats on the sea.

The boat and the engines were seized and stored with the cooperation of a company.

The storage of the narco boats seized by police southern Spain is a real problem. In the town of Dos Hermanas, in Seville province, the high-speed narco boats with huge engines were seen in the middle of the street in front of the police station where there is also a local school.

This week, 20 of these seized narco boats used for smuggling drugs were burned in a blaze at a police warehouse the Puerto de Santa Maria, in the province of Cadiz, also in Andalusia region.

The cause of the blaze is unknown.

Cadiz is a popular travel destination among British holidaymakers, known for its beaches and beautiful architecture.
