Authorities in Turkey have arrested the mother and uncle of a three-year-old girl after she was found dead in her bed after apparently being kicked for making lots of noise during the night.

The incident took place in the south-western Turkish province of Burdur when Kader K., whose age and full surname were not disclosed, reportedly went to wake up her daughter Aysenur K. in the morning, but she realised that the young girl was lying motionless on her bed.

The mother called the emergency services, and paramedics were dispatched to the address. However, they were only able to pronounce the youngster dead at the scene.

The mother and the girl’s uncle Hizir Tunc C., age and full surname also not disclosed, were taken into custody after the authorities deemed the youngster’s death suspicious.

In his statement at the police station, the uncle reportedly admitted that the girl had been making lots of noise during the night, and he allegedly kicked her to shut her up.

Both the mother and the uncle were taken to court after being questioned, and they were formally arrested.

DNA samples were then taken from Erdogan Kazik and Kader K.’s partner Erdi Karadeniz.
