Mexican Actress Who Bedded Maradona In 86 Calls Him Her Best Lover

This Mexican actress and singer has revealed she had a summer fling with football legend Diego Maradona during the 1986 World Cup and calls him “the best lover I have ever had”.

Mexican actress and singer Merle Uribe spoke with the Mexican morning show ‘Sale el Sol’ (The Sun Comes Out) broadcast by Grupo Imagen yesterday (26 November).

The interview comes just one day after the Argentine football legend passed away on Wednesday 25th November aged 60.

Merle, who is from the capital Mexico City, said she met Maradona when he was in the country for the 1986 World Cup, which Argentina would eventually go on to win beating West Germany in the final after the infamous ‘Hand of God’ goal against England in the quarter-finals.

She said he was a good person and an incredible human being, adding she has very fond memories with him during their fleeting romance that she “knew would end quickly”.

Merle said: “When we saw each other, we took advantage of the moment. He was the best lover I have ever had.”

The actress added: “Maradona was very sexy and knew what you wanted. He did a good job.”

However, after Argentina won the World Cup, there was a large party and Maradona left the following day.

In an interview with Mexican journalist Alex Kaffie, Uribe said: “I knew what the deal was. I knew it was summer love, a fleeting romance.”

When asked if she felt used she said: “Oh no, no. Maybe I was the one using him.”

Merle is known for various roles in Mexican films during the 70s and 80s and for her performances as a cabaret singer.
