This is the shocking moment a large pile vegetable crates falls right on top of a female market stallholder’s head and flattens her.

The incident was filmed at the Central de Abasto wholesale market in the city of Puebla in the central Mexican state of the same name and shared on Facebook where it has been seen 53,000 times.

In the footage, the female stallholder in pink is seen talking to an elderly woman in the marketplace.

A young man walks in front of the tall stack of crates just off screen, and although it is unclear whether he nudges it, the delivery starts to topple forwards as soon as he passes.

The huge stack falls on top of the female stallholder’s head and the elderly woman she is chatting to jumps back in shock.

So far, the victim’s identity and current condition has not been reported.

However, other stallholders claim that these types of accidents are common at the market due to limited space.

Traders have requested that the market’s managers improve security measures to avoid similar accidents in the future.

Netizen ‘Maricela Torres’ said: “It is not only the limited space that is a problem, but also the action of the deliverymen who load more than they should.”

‘Damian Tlachi’ commented: “This would not have happened if they weren’t gossiping.”
