Prosecutors have confirmed they are investigating allegations by a 52-year-old businessman identified only as Wael T. against blue-eyed Maria Kammoun, a Lebanese model who came second in the 2019 Miss Arab world.

It is unclear if it was really her that he was dealing with but he claims that she had been working in an investment consultancy where she had persuaded him to give her TRY 1 million (GBP 45,000) to invest in property.

He claims that when he tried to get the money back, he was told that she had been fired by the consultancy.

The prosecutor’s investigation was widely reported in local media, but there has so far been no statement from the young woman on the allegations.

He also complained that when he told the Lebanese model that he wanted a child, she had sent him pictures of babies that she “hoped her child would look like”.

In the prosecution complaint, the man claims that she took advantage of his desire to settle down and have a family to persuade him to give her money.

As well as handing over the cash to buy the property which never materialised, he claims that he spent another TRY 200,000 (GBP 9,000) on buying her luxury handbags, gold and jewellery.

The victim, living in Avcilar, which is a district of Istanbul, Turkey, and on the European side of the city, said the money for the investment was supposed to be for a three-apartment building that would then be rented out once it had been furnished in order to get income.
