Poker ace Bert Stevens bagged the prize of his career after he won the biggest World Series of Poker (WSOP) online main event by operator GGPoker on Tuesday, 3rd October.

The Belgian native reportedly beat out a field of 6,023 entries in the USD 5,000 (GBP 4,108) buy-in bracelet event to win a whopping USD 2,783,433 (GBP 2,286,117).

Media revealed that the game in the highest-paying online tournament in history lasted for 27 hours with breaks.

The popular Twitch streamer known by the name ‘@girafganger7’ who boasts more than 23,100 followers on the platform, went heads-up with about a 4-1 chip advantage against Yagen Li from China in the final round.

Both players were guaranteed more than USD 2 million (GBP 1.6 million), with more than USD 750,000 (GBP 616,188) of a difference between first and second place.

From the button, Stevens reportedly raised it up to USD 10.5 million with a pair of sixes (clubs and diamonds) before facing a three-bet to USD 30 million against an ace of clubs and a queen of diamonds.

The Twitch star then put all in for around USD 117 million, to which Li snap-called and was in a position to take a 2-1 chip advantage if he could win a race.

But he had to ‘settle’ with a USD 2 million (GBP 1.6 million) consolation prize after a board containing a king of spades, a three of diamonds, a king of diamonds, a four of spades, and a five of hearts.

Stevens celebrated the win by trying to rip his shirt off in front of thousands of fans who were able to watch the live stream on his Twitch profile.

Many of them congratulated him in the comment section after witnessing the winning moment.

X (Twitter) user ‘@TiagoCo12631691’ said: “This man is the real goat of poker, @GGPoker just offer him as sponsorship and create his avatar and his emoji he deserves it.

“The most humble guy I ever saw on Twitch. I wish you all the best ‘@Girafganger7’.”
