This is the cute moment a former stray cat makes ‘melodic humming sounds’ as it receives a little TLC from its adoptive owner.

According to local media, the adorable cat nicknamed ‘koala cat’, that has koala-like nose markings, was taken in by a farming family near the city of Fukuoka in the southern Japanese prefecture of the same name.

The ‘musical’ moggy was first spotted by the family in 2014 when it was a frail homeless kitten, according to local media.

The owners of the farm began to look after the little stray by leaving milk and food items outside for it and named it “Chibi-chan” which is Japanese for a small child or animal.

In 2015, when the cat gave birth to four kittens, the family then provided them with warm shelter and named the moggy ‘Chibi-chan’, according to reports.

However, the family said it took around a year before the stray began to trust humans and allow them to touch or hold it.

Chibi-chan then revealed its hidden musical talents to family members every time they picked it up and patted its furry back.

According to the family, it sounds like the cat is repeatedly singing ‘mama’.

Chibi-chan also likes to climb on people’s backs and has become a local celebrity in the area where it has even appeared on TV shows and newspapers, according to reports.
