IRAN HIJAB PROTESTS: Iranian Cops Shoot, Beat And Run Over Protester With A Motorcycle

This is the shocking moment a gang of Iranian security agents give a suspected protester a savage beating before shooting him at point-blank range and running him over with a motorbike.

The video has been widely circulated as proof of protesters’ claims about illegal shootings and violence.

It shows a man lying on the ground as he is kicked and beaten by numerous officers holding batons.

One of the men on a motorbike then runs over the helpless man after he is dragged into an underpass and out of view.

A gunshot also rings out at one point as the man is shot and possibly killed at point-blank range.

The video is the latest in the shocking toll of violence that has occurred in Iran after protests started over the death of Mahsa Amini when she was arrested by the morality police.

The footage was reportedly recorded in a district of the capital, and although the man’s identity was not revealed, even Iranian officials at the Information Center of the Law Enforcement Command of the Islamic Republic of Iran appeared to accept its authenticity.

In a statement for the Tasnim news agency, they confirmed an order to “investigate the exact time and location of the attack and identify the offenders”.

They added: “The police do not approve harsh and unconventional treatment, the offending officers will certainly be dealt with according to the law.”

They also in defence pointed out that in the video, “it can be clearly seen that one of the police officers tried to defend the young man although this appears to be unsuccessful”.

Human rights groups were among those to condemn the video saying it shows clearly the brutality being used by Iranian police officers against their fellow citizens.

The man shot is just one of many that have died amid allegations of protesters being shot at close range or attacked with batons.

Amnesty International was one of the organisations to speak out saying: “This shocking video sent from Tehran is another horrific reminder that the cruelty of Iran’s security forces knows no bounds.

“Amid a crisis of impunity, they’re given free rein to brutally beat and shoot protesters,” it added, calling on the UN Human Rights Council to “urgently investigate these crimes”.
