This viral video watched more than four million times shows a homeowner’s glass door letting out a spine-chilling laugh that sounds exactly like a witch’s cackle.

The video, which has been trending on social media since 17th April, shows the glass door in the 25-year-old’s home in Weifang City in Shandong Province in East China.

Homeowner Wang, who was identified by his surname, can be seen opening his door fully until it hits a stopper and begins shaking.

The rattling hinges of the glass door then let out a sound that resembles the eerie laugh of a female demon, which social media users have called a ‘yaojing’ – or a ‘bewitched spirit’.

The short clip has been liked some 330,000 times and gained shared 19,000 shares since being posted less than 24 hours ago.

More than 15,000 netizens have also commented on the disquieting laughter, which one user, ‘Zhuifeng Shaonian Mengxiaoyao’, described as: “This video made me tuck my foot back under my blanket.”

‘Fu’er Morui’ said: “Did he slam the door against a ghost or something?”

‘Lucie_duoduo’ commented: “That would scare half to death even if it didn’t happen in the middle of the night.”

Wang did not say whether he had tried exorcising his door with some lubricant.
